The Long Beach Homebrew Fest, organized on by nonprofit We Love Long Beach, will return for its 6th annual tasting event and contest on Saturday, Nov. 4.
Tickets for the event will go on sale Friday, Sept. 1 at 5 p.m. A general admission ticket include a taster glass and tokens so attendees can vote to pick their favorite homebrewed beers. More than 20 homebrewers were selected by the organization to participate.
General admission tickets will cost $45 and VIP tickets will cost $60, including everything a general admission ticket has, as well as early entry and a VIP Beer Garden. The VIP Beer Garden will have five local breweries, Altar Society, Ambitious Ales, La Jara Brewing, Long Beach Beer Lab and Ten Mile Brewing Company, pouring their best beers.
Two trophies will be handed out: The people’s choice award voted on by attendees and the judge’s choice award voted on by local certified beer judges.
Local musicians The Bell Boys, and food vendors Mobo Mac & Cheese and popular local Cambodian Chef Chad of Battambog BBQ, will also be at the festival.
The event started in 2016 after a friend brought their homebrewed beer to a We Love Long Beach citywide event. When the organization was looking for a way to fundraise, they decided to tap into Long Beach’s homebrewing community, We Love LB Associate Director Robin Jones said.
The mission of We Love Long Beach is to create community by hosting social events in hopes of providing people with “the tools to connect with and care for the people on their block and in their neighborhood,” Jones said in a statement.
The event will be hosted at a private residence in the Virginia Country Club neighborhood.
Tickets can be purchased online started Sept. 1.
