11:20am | On Monday, November 7, at approximately 7:14 p.m., officers from the Long Beach Police Department were dispatched to a gunfire call in the 400 block of West Anaheim Street, which resulted in the death of a 17-year-old male.
When officers arrived, they located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. The paramedics were summoned and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Long Beach Police Homicide investigators responded to the scene. Investigators believe the victim was standing near an apartment complex when he was confronted by an unknown person who fired multiple shots at him. The shooting is being investigating as possibly gang-related. There is no suspect information at this time.
The victim has been identified as 17-year-old Christian Gomez, a Wilmington resident.
