2 women injured during robbery at CSULB, police say

Two women were injured Wednesday morning during a robbery at Cal State Long Beach, university police said.

Chief of Police Fernando Solorzano said in a statement today that a male subject wearing a baseball hat, sunglasses and a neck gaiter approached the two female students around 11 a.m. in Parking Lot R2, located next to the student housing buildings on Beach Drive. Solorzano said the man then “used force to take groceries” from the two women, injuring them in the process.

The extent of the injuries were “minor bruises and scratches,” CSULB Capt. John Brockie said. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, police said.

CSULB Police urge anyone with more information to contact detectives at 562-985-4101. To provide an anonymous tip, contact university police at 562-985-0042.
