Shul by the Shore’s third annual Chanukah Menorah Candle Lighting and Music Festival will be held in Belmont Shore on Sunday, December 6, organizers announced.

Beginning at 4:00PM, the event will feature Chanukah crafts, face painting, games, snacks and prizes.

There will also be musical performances by the Shul by the Shore Children’s Choir and the award-winning Jewish cultural revival band Mostly Kosher Klezmer Band.

“The Mostly Kosher Klezmer Band has a love and passion for preserving traditional Yiddish music and cultural traditions with a contemporary spin,” says Rabbi Perelmuter of the Shul by the Shore synongue. “Their exquisite musicianship, contagious energy and poignant light-hearted humor make this a must-see band and event.”

The event, co-sponsored by the Belmont Shore Business Association, will also feature a handmade 12-feet-high and 8-feet-wide menorah that organizers said “is among the largest ever constructed locally.”

This year the Chanukah Menorah Lighting will fall on the first night of the Jewish holiday, the Festival of Lights.

The event will take place at Citibank, 5354 East Second Street.
