Sixth District Councilman Dee Andrews along with the Consul General of Mexico David Figueroa Ortega are pleased to announce the arrival of the Mexican Mobile Consulate at the McBride Teen Center, 1520 Martin Luther King Jr Avenue in Long Beach. It will be there this Saturday, November 17th, from 8AM to 2PM.

This event is free for any individual interested in obtaining important documents such as passports or consular ID cards. Many Mexican nationals have difficulties getting into the Mexican Consulate in Los Angeles and remain in need of official identification. This event brings everything to the local community and over 400 people have already called for appointments. A representative from Councilmember Andrews’ office says that the estimated amount of people the mobile consulate will reach is over 700 people.

“It is a great honor to partner with the City of Long Beach to serve the Mexican citizens. The community program is a great asset that allows us to reach out to our constituents to render our services where they are based. This spares them the time and expense of traveling to our Los Angeles office”, said Consul General of Mexico, David Figueroa Ortega.

The event is open to the general public. All those attending for documents must make an appointment by calling 1-877 MEXITEL (639-4835). The following documents must be brought with you in order to process services: original birth certificate, an effective official identification with the name on the identification the same as it appears on the birth certificate, proof of address in Los Angeles County, and two passport photos with a white background.
