In case you didn’t know it, Long Beach is in the middle of a council campaign. The vacant seat was held by Councilwoman Laura Richardson until she moved up to the State Assembly. Elections for the 6th District seat will be held on May 1st along with other city-wide ballot measures.
The candidates include- Edward Acevedo, Dee Andrews, Alvin R. Austin, J.A. Caruthers, Lee Davis, Charlotte Gibson, Lillian Parker and Ahmed Carl Saafir.
On Monday, March 5th, the Wrigley Association will hold a candidate’s forum for the 6th District special election at Veterans Park at 7:00 pm. The moderator for the forum will be Alan Tolfkoff, Vice President of the Wrigley Association and long time community leader.
Refreshments will be served and all 6th District residents (and political junkies) are invited.
