UPDATE: DEC. 11, 11:45 A.M. | The man who went missing Monday from his Lakewood home is now safe, officials from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

He was found unharmed at about 6 a.m. Tuesday, according to authorities.

“Mr. Nichols’ family and LASD would like to thank everyone who helped search for Mr. Nichols; your efforts were appreciated,” the department said in a statement.

PREVIOUSLY | A 76-year-old Lakewood man who suffers from dementia is missing, authorities said Tuesday.

Isiah Nichols was last seen at 9:30 a.m. Monday at his home in the 6100 block of Tanglewood Street, according to Deputy Tracy Koerner of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Nichols is black, 5-foot-9 and 162 pounds. He has gray, buzz-cut hair and brown eyes, Koerner said. He was last seen wearing a green sweater and blue jeans.

His beige Ford F-150, California license plate number 7T42190, was last spotted in the Long Beach and Downey areas, Koerner said.

Anyone with information regarding Nichol’s whereabouts was urged to call the sheriff’s Missing Persons Unit at 323-890-5500 and speak with Det. Tamar Abraham or Sgt. Sandra Nava.
