So, over the weekend we told you about CityOfNeighborhoods.com, the City’s newest venture to promote local businesses by partnering with the Council of Business Associations (CoBA).  Today, let’s look a little closer.

The site features local businesses and upcoming events throughout six designated districts, providing links to their respective websites (click the District to visit their page):

Downtown
Bixby Knolls
Belmont Shore
Cambodia Town
East Anaheim
4th Street

Events are taken from LimelightLB.com, an online database of local events.  CityOfNeighborhoods.com differs by organizing all of the business-related events and highlighting featured businesses such as Mark Twain Neighborhood Library (Cambodia Town), Jammin Music (Bixby Knolls) and World Evolution Yoga Center (4th Street).

During our introductory story on Saturday, one commentor wondered how a local business would go about getting involved with the site.  We asked Ryan Smolar, who runs LimelightLB, and is listed as one of the contacts on CityofNeighborhoods.com.  Smolar says the best way to get included is simply to e-mail him ([email protected]) to state your interest.  You can also email Travis Brooks at [email protected], and they’ll let you know how to get started.

Is your business not located in one of the six featured districts?  Not a problem.  The website plans to add more in the very near future, and you may be the missing link to get your district added.
