The Los Alamitos Army Airfield will be the site of an exciting display to include military aircraft, helicopters, radio controlled airplanes, military equipment, demonstrations and cars on Sunday, Oct. 28th, from 10:00am – 4:00pm.

It’s all part of Helicopter Appreciation Day, presented by Wings Wheels and Rotors.  Various civilian, public safety and military helicopters will be on display for all visitors, and there will be demonstrations and flybys throughout the day.  Helicopter flights in civilian “choppers” will also be available for a small fee.

A judged car show – featuring antique and classic cars, new automobiles and motorcycles – will join in the fun, and the LA Clipper Spirit Dance Team is scheduled to perform.

Food, music, vendors, displays, raffles, auctions, demonstrations, flybys and various other activities are scheduled, and rides in the Goodyear Blimp will be auctioned off.

Proceeds to also go to the military Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) funds for the military personnel on the base. The event is open to the public, and both admission and parking are free.  Picture I.D. required.
