All westbound lanes of Spring St. from Lakewood Blvd. through the airport underpass will be closed from 9AM until 4PM today as Public Works crews repair damage caused by an earlier hit-and-run.
The traffic accident, which occurred sometime last night, caused the damages, but police did not elaborate on the specifics of what the damages were nor do they have a description of the involved vehicles.
“Public Works Engineers and Airport Operations personnel inspected the tunnel and determined the structural integrity was not compromised,” said Sgt. Aaron Eaton with the Long Beach Police Department.
Long Beach Airport operations will not be affected by this work.
