The Long Beach Airport hosted a welcoming party for its newest partner yesterday as Allegiant Airlines made its first arrival flight from Bellingham, WA and was greeted with cheers and a water salute – the airplane equivalent of breaking champagne over the bow of a ship.
Allegiant joins Frontier Airlines as the newest companies to offer services at LGB. Allegiant use 150-seat MD-80 aircraft to provide five non-stop flights per week to Stockton, CA and three non-stop flights per week to Bellingham, WA near Vancouver.
