An apartment fire in Alamitos Beach left one woman displaced Friday afternoon.
The Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) received the call about the structure fire at 921 East Broadway at about 2:41PM, said LBFD spokesman Jake Heflin.
Arriving firefighters found smoke showing from the fourth story apartment building in unit 306, and concluded the source of the fire was coming from the unit’s kitchen.
The fire was knocked down by 2:54PM, Heflin said.
As a result of the fire, one woman was displaced, and the American Red Cross was called to assist her with temporary lodging because utility service to her unit was cut off.
A second-floor unit below the source of the fire sustained water damage, Heflin said.
