The Aquarium of the Pacific hosted its sixth annual Sea Fare event over the weekend, which not only featured excellent cuisine from local restaurants – many of which are participating in the aquarium’s Seafood for the Future sustainable eating program – but also raised thousands in silent and live auctions that will benefit their educational and conservation programs.

In the shadow of the life-sized blue whale model, dozens of restaurants and catering services offered delicious appetizers while thousands of dollars were raised through auctions that boasted luxury suites for Laker games and trips to Italy. Some of the restaurants that participated were also featured in the aquarium’s sustainable cooking competition that was held earlier this month (click here to read and see photos from that day).

Local restaurants that participated included the nearby Parker’s Lighthouse, Mai Tai Bar, Wokcano, Renaissance Long Beach Hotel and Buono’s Authentic Pizzeria. Nikol Anderson was on hand to bring us these photos from the event.
