A man was stabbed just after midnight after arguing with another man inside a Long Beach home, authorities said.

Officers were dispatched to the home around 12:10 a.m. Sunday, June 21, in the 900 block of Washington Place, a few blocks north of Seventh Street near Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.

Officials said the two men, who are known to each other, were arguing inside the residence before the stabbing occurred.

The victim suffered a non-life threatening injury to his upper body and transported to a local hospital by paramedics, according to Long Beach police spokeswoman Arantxa Chavarria.

The assailant fled the scene before police arrived.

The investigation is ongoing.
