Authorities say they’re investigating a man’s death after pulling his body from a flood channel in Los Alamitos.

The Orange County Fire Authority was called at around 10 a.m. for a water rescue at a flood-control channel in the area of Coyote Creek and Cerritos Avenue.

At the scene, firefighters found a man in the water and pulled him out, according to the OCFA. He was determined dead at the scene.

Firefighters, including Long Beach fire personnel and a swiftwater rescue team, searched the flood-control channel from Cerritos Avenue to the ocean, but found no other victims, said OCFA Capt. Thanh Nguyen said.

Information was not immediately available on the identity of the person, who was described only as a male of unknown age.
