As first reported by the lbpost.com on Wednesday, the 2008 Long Beach Bayou Festival is going to be awesome.
Now in its 22nd year, the Bayou Fest is expected to be bigger than ever with Rainbow Promotions (famous for produing the LB Jazz Festival) signed on to organize and market the event. Proceeds will go to Comprehensive Child Development, which has four centers in Long Beach and is facing drastic budget cuts. So get out to Rainbow Lagoon, support a good cause and get your dance on! The Bayou Fest will run Saturday and Sunday.

Another worthwhile cause to check out downtown is the 2008 Long Beach AIDS Walk, which will also take place Saturday. Opening ceremonies begin at the Pike at 8:00am
Participants can register until midnight tonight, and volunteers are still being accepted. Visit the website here for more information, and click here to see the day’s complete schedule.
