3:30pm | As first reported by the lbpost.com, the Long Beach Bayou & Mardi Gras festival this weekend is going to be awesome.
One of Long Beach’s most unique events, the festival will take place downtown on Saturday and Sunday with festivities that include vibrant musical performances, traditional line dances and all the po’ boys you can eat.
Part of the profits to benefit Comprehensive Child Development, Inc. a non-profit child care and education organization. The two-day event is the sole fundraising event for CCD, a childcare center on Pacific Avenue that provides vital care for young children as they prepare for elementary school.
All the more reason to celebrate! The festival has lined up an impressive array of blues and jazz artists that range from Tito Jackson and Zac Harmon to the New Orleans Traditional Jazz Band and plenty of parades. To bring even more Cajun flavor to the atmosphere, more than one dozen food vendors will offer mouth-watering treats from gumbo, jambalaya and red beans & rice to gator, crawfish, crab and much more.
Grab your feathered garb and bring a bib, the Bayou & Mardi Gras Festival is a tradition not to be missed.
