Ah, the arts, culture and entertainment of our city. They help us think, laugh, dance, relax, or just straight up plaster a smile on our face. They are the cultural fabric that connects different humans on a common level, the strange entities that can’t quite be placed within logic or simple explanation.

• Our city entertains all the performing arts–operatic, symphonic, theatrical, musical, street performance, dance, you-name-it. So which is the best for you?

Best Local Rapper

• We’re home to some of the greatest rappers ever: Tray Deee, Nate Dogg, Warren G, Snoop… Breathe… Lion, and Frank Ocean (if y’all consider Ocean a rapper and someone who lived here for only the first five years of his existence as a “local”). Who is currently representing Long Beach’s legacy with the best flow?

Best DJ

• They are nothing short of Musical Deities, powers that control the flow of your evening’s groove whether you’re at a club or a bar. We want to know which one you feels always seem to read your mind through speakers.

Best Annual Cultural Event

• There are myriad events in Long Beach, catering to everything from comic nerds to zombie fanatics, racers to bicyclists, Latinos to gays. What is the annual event you simply refuse to miss?

Best Museum

• Simple and forward: museums harvest our local art while expanding our knowledge of the art of the world. Which institution makes your right brain explode?

Best Mural

• Whether it was created by the City or a private business, murals enrich our sense of surrounding. What mural always makes you pause your quick step?
