2:17pm | A 48-year old Long Beach resident was struck and killed by a car on Tuesday night at the Los Coyotes Diagonal traffic circle, authorities say.
Fernando Santiago was riding his bicycle around 7:31pm, and as police describe it, “the bicyclist was traveling in the Traffic Circle.”
A 64-year old Long Beach resident was driving his 2009 Toyota Scion from Lakewood Boulevard into the Traffic Circle when the car struck Santiago. The driver immediately stopped and rendered aid to Santiago, who was transported to a local hospital by Long Beach Fire Department paramedics.
Police say that the driver was interviewed and released at the scene, but that charges may be pending.
