The Community Hospital of Long Beach Foundation announced yesterday that the Ralph M. Parsons Foundation has donated a $150,000 grant to the hospital towards a CT Scanner project, that will enable Community doctors to see a high-detail, 3-D view inside a patient’s body.  It works within minutes and will allow doctors to recommend treatment quickly and accurately.

“The 64-slice CT scanner will give the physicians of CHLB the opportunity to provide our patients with state of the art medical care and will expand the scope of services that we are able to offer,” Chief of Staff Dennis Parmer, MD., said in a recent release.

“We thank the Ralph M. Parsons Foundation for their generous and thoughtful investment.”

The grant will assist Community’s efforts to maintain the highest level of quality care on the cutting edge of science and technology.  Every renovation or expansion to the 243-bed facility has been made by its Foundation since the 1970s.
