Long Beach police are investigating after the body of a man was found in the water at Alamitos Beach Sunday evening.
Officers do not suspect foul play, police said, but the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office will be responsible for determining the cause of death.
Police said they were called to the scene near Fifth Place just before 6 p.m. Long Beach Lifeguard personnel also were there and pronounced the man dead, police said.
Details about who found the body and in what condition weren’t immediately available. The man’s identity has not been publicly released.
