12:00 | The Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses initiative has partnered with the Long Beach Community College District to help small businesses in the surrounding area grow and create jobs.

Free information sessions are scheduled for early 2012 to provide more details about the program.

“Small Businesses are the backbone of the American economy, and we are committed to providing resources and access to capital for these emerging enterprises,” said LBCC President Eloy Ortiz Oakley. “Long Beach City College is invested in the future of economic development and our local economy.”

Small business owners will participate in an 11-session business entrepreneurship training program that examines business fundamentals, and surrounds scholars with peer CEOs and local and national business professionals who will assist them in taking their business to new heights.

Business Support Services: One-on-one business advisory services that help owners to develop and implement tailored growth plans, access to technical assistance, and mentors to provide support on their business issues and help increase business capacity.
