The Belmont Shore Business Association announced that be free parking will be available upcoming Saturdays on Second Street to encourage holiday shopping.

Parking, which normally cost 25 cents an hour at meters along and around the popular shopping and dining area, will be free from 10:00am-7:00pm on the following Saturdays: December 4, 11 and 18.

The BBSA also announced the beginning of “Starlight Shopping” on the following Fridays: Dec. 3, 10 and 17. The event includes holiday shopping opportunities while the sounds of fill the street and storefronts.

The events accompany the 28th Annual Belmont Shore Christmas Parade on Saturday. The popular event begins at 7:00pm. Additional parade parking is available at Rogers Middle School on Appian Way near Nieto Avenue at a cost of $10. Ocean Beach Parking lots will not charge in meter parking after 4:00pm on parade day. Livingston Avenue will be closed from Ocean Boulevard to East Second Street at 4:00pm. Side streets from Quincy to Claremont avenues will be closed from Second Street to north and southbound to the alleys starting at 4:00pm. East Second Street will close from Livingston to Bayshore avenues at 5:00pm.
