The association once called California Service Corps.—and renamed in 2006 by Governor Schawarzenegger as California Volunteers—has established a new corporate award in honor of Jeffrey Hoffman, a Long Beach-based businessman and philanthropist.

The award will be called “The Hoffman Prize” and will be presented once a year to individuals that distinguish themselves in fostering volunteerism at the local, state, national or global level.

Jeff Hoffman is currently California Volunteers’ Chairman and worked for The Walt Disney Company since 1978 with his final position with the company being Vice President of Disney Worldwide Outreach where his responsibilities spanned from worldwide community relations to volunteerism and the division’s finance and administration.

Hoffman currently is president and founder of the Belmont Shore company Jeff Hoffman and Associates, which assists people in their global philanthropy and civic engagement efforts.
