Long Beach’s financial district has a new addition: City National Bank, which has relocated and expanded its services to the Long Beach community by adding a new Commercial Banking Services center.

According to a release, City National Bank has been serving the Long Beach community since 1998, when it first opened its Harbor Bank doors. Now, the new offices occupy a space within the 12-story Legacy Oceangate Tower, located at 100 Oceangate.

A nearly 3,000-square-foot, ground-floor is devoted to the bank branch, while a 14,800 square-foot area on the 10th floor serves commercial banking clients. City National Bank provides banking, trust and investment services.

“We’re thrilled to open this new office,” Rod Banks, City National’s Commercial Banking Services Executive, said in a statement. “The Greater South Bay region’s growth and diverse economy in many ways represents the future of Los Angeles. We’re excited to be a part of that growth, and we’re looking forward to delivering valuable financial solutions to our clients as well as the South Bay’s local entrepreneurs, small businesses and professionals and their families.”

A ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house was held Tuesday March 1, from 5:00 to 7:00PM in the lobby of the Oceangate Tower. Randy Gordon, president of the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce, stood alongside Banks and said he’s pleased to welcome the bank’s new regional banking center to the Long Beach community.

“We’re excited to work alongside City National as it serves the financial needs of our local business owners,” Gordon said in a statement.
