For today’s kids, writing letters to Santa Claus is a thing of the past. Now, children can call “Santa’s Hotline” and leave a message for the Big Man himself.
The hotline, presented by Long Beach-based company FreeConferenceCall.com, allows naughty and nice boys and girls from around the world to leave a voicemail for Kris Kringle with their holiday wishes.
FreeConferenceCall.com is hoping to reach millions of children around the world this year, while also pledging donations to Children Today through the hotline, which launched December 1. The company connected around eight million children to the hotline last year.
“This is Santa of the 21st Century,” said CEO and founder of FreeConferenceCall.com Dave Erickson in a statement, adding that children’s modern wish lists often come via online chat rooms, automated e-mail addresses and even text messages. “Knowing Santa is just a phone call away is an easy way for parents to help children keep this important traditional holiday connection in today’s busy world.”
FreeConferenceCall.com uses a dedicated voicemail line called SimpleVoiceBox, which allows users to leave detailed recordings that they say will be delivered to Santa all the way in the North Pole.
Some of the most popular items requested in the past through Santa’s Hotline have included video gaming equipment, electronics, American Girl dolls, pets and baby brothers or sisters, according to FreeConferenceCall.com staff.
Children from across the globe may leave a message for Santa until December 25 by calling 1-605-47-SANTA (72682) at no charge.
