2:01pm | Hyatt hotel chain veteran Stephen D’Agostino has been tapped to run the Hyatt Regency Long Beach.
D’Agostino, who has 28 years at Hyatt, is relocating from New Jersey, where he was general manager of the 350-room Hyatt Regency Jersey City since 2008. D’Agostina replaces Jeff Pace, who will become general manager of Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Resort & Spa in San Diego.
The Hyatt is adjacent to the Long Beach Entertainment and Convention Center on Pine Avenue at Rainbow Harbor Lagoon and is considered the city’s largest hotel with 528 rooms. The hotel boasts 16 suites, an outdoor heated pool, a fitness center and 27,000 square feet of meeting space. It houses Tides Restaurant, Perk’s Pantry and the Lobby Bar.
D’Agostino has served in six different posts while with Hyatt.
Previously, D’Agostino was resident manager at Grand Hyatt New York, where he was responsible for overseeing operations and sales for the 1,300-room property next to the Grand Central Terminal. Additionally, he was executive director of sales and marketing for Hyatt’s Large Meetings’ Network, was divisional director of sales for Hyatt’s western division and he held several positions at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. D’Agostino joined Hyatt in 1983 at the former Hyatt Lincolnwood outside Chicago as a sales manager and director of sales.
