The son of two well-known local politicians has been named the Chief Operating Officer of the Long Beach teleconferencing firm where he has handled the brand’s local deployment in more than 50 countries since 2010.

Josh Lowenthal, whose parents are Rep. Alan Lowenthal and State Assemblywoman Bonnie Lowenthal, will be in charge of all retail and wholesale operations, customer acquisition strategy and global alliances for Freeconferencecall.com, the largest privately held conferencing provider in the United States.

joshlowenthalFreeconferencecall.com started in 2001 from a small office on Pine Ave. and Ocean Blvd. and has since grown into a global brand that now provides an estimated 12% of all conferencing services in the world from its unmistakeable building in the Traffic Circle.

“Josh is an industry veteran whose entrepreneurial spirit is already a major reason why millions of consumers all over the world are able to communicate affordably and effectively through FreeConferenceCall.com services,” said Dave Erickson, CEO of FreeConferenceCall.com. “Every decision Josh makes is based on providing customers with high-quality calls, the most cutting edge features, and first-class customer service, which is what makes him the ideal leader to oversee the growth of our business in the years to come.”

Lowenthal previously served as Managing Director of International Operations and Vice President of Development and spearheaded the company’s major expansion, which shows no sign of stopping. More than 25 million customers a month currently use the company’s free services which include conference calls and, more recently, video meetings, through 24-hour operations housed across the globe.

“We have great momentum right now with the growth of the international network and an extraordinarily enthusiastic and loyal customer base,” said Lowenthal. “We will continue to innovate and improve our services so that even more consumers will benefit, and I am thrilled to be leading that charge.”

As of last year, the company facilitated more than six billion minutes per year through its website and with calls coming from more than 100 countries.
