9:00pm | According to the Los Angeles Times, Matthew J. Walker, son of Farmers & Merchants’ Bank President Daniel Walker, siphoned some $2 million between 2009 and 2010 via taking advances from a customer’s account. Matthew was the branch manager for the Laguna Hills location. He plead guilty before U.S. District Judge Andrew J. Guilford in Santa Ana today.

According to Daniel Walker, the bank immediately reimbursed the money which was covered by insurance and stated, “Just because it’s a family member doesn’t change the responsibilities of the bank by any means. You take care of the customers first. That’s where our loyalty and focus is.”
