Agents at Keller Williams Realty Los Alamitos will be collecting toys for the U.S. Marine Corps Toys For Tots Program in their effort to help needy children in the local area for the seventh straight year.
Boxes are located at the office located at 10900 Los Alamitos Blvd. behind Hof’s Hut restaurant. Keller Williams agents from the Los Alamitos do a lot of business in areas around Long Beach, particularly within the city itself. Agents will also be soliciting their Long Beach clientele for donations.
“The care and support that the community has shown in past years has been wonderful,” Elaine Armogida, team leader at Keller Williams Realty Los Alamitos, said in a statement. “Agents will be walking flyers alerting the community that they will pick up toys if needed.”
“I will be notifying the homes by delivering flyers letting the residents know when I will be collecting the toys,” said Keller Williams agent Richard Daskam.
Tammy Newland, owner of the Los Alamitos office, stated, “The objective of Toys For Tots is to help needy children experience the joy of Christmas and to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources-our children.”
Toys For Tots started in 1947 when Major Bill Hendricks, with support of members of his Los Angeles Marine Corps Reserve unit, collected and distributed 5,000 toys to needy children. The program has been so successful that over the past several years, the Marines have distributed an average of 11,400,000 toys annually, according to literature from the program.
Those interested in dropping off toys for this year’s drive can leave them at 10900 Los Alamitos Blvd., located behind Hof’s Hut restaurant, or call (562) 626-8600 for more information.
