Virg Narbutas, incomming CEO for the new Community Hospital, will give an update on the hospital’s reopening in a public meeting on Monday.

The 94-year-old East Long Beach hospital shuttered this year after MemorialCare ended its role as operator.

The city, which owns the land and building, recently selected new operator Molina, Wu, Network, to fill the gap in service and reopen the hospital. (John Molina is part of that bid, and is also a founding partner in Pacific6, the parent company of the Long Beach Post).

The Community Hospital Long Beach Task Force meeting will start at 5 p.m. at the Veterans Administration Learning Center at 5901 E. Seventh St. Enter off 7th Street then turn right and park in lots E and F.
