In preparation for the mid-February opening of its new Downtown location, top-rated Naples eatery Michael’s Pizzeria will be hosting a job fair both this and next Saturday. The new Michael’s Pizzeria will be the second Long Beach home of the Michael Dene-owned brand, and will occupy the northernmost retail location on the recently transformed Promenade.
Qualified applicants are encouraged to apply in person at the new pizzeria’s parent location, Michael’s on Naples, between 11AM and 2PM on both January 26 and February 2. Job opportunities are available for managers, servers, bussers, hostesses, prep, pantry and pizzaiolos.
The role of the pizzaiolo is of utmost importance to the culture and heritage of Michael’s Pizzeria, which was named the best pizzeria in Los Angeles by Zagat’s 2013 Restaurant Guide. Because Michael’s specialty is wood-fired Neapolitan pizza, the pizzaiolo (or pizza chef) is responsible for promoting the culinary tradition of Neapolitan pizza through the preparation of dough and the coordination of ingredients.
In addition to a menu that includes 14 different Neapolitan pizzas, cast-iron baked pastas and a range of antipasti and salads, Dene’s latest Downtown location will feature an outdoor dining area as well as a wine list of mostly Italian vintages and a rotating selection of craft beers.
