If eating your own gorgeous face is on your bucket list, now you have a chance to check that item off with the consumption of a pancake.
Confused yet? Don’t be.
IHG’s (InterContinental Hotels Group) “Pancake Selfie Express” is making a two-day stop in Long Beach on Monday, until 6:00PM and Tuesday from 12:00PM to 6:00PM in Shoreline Village (401 – 435 Shoreline Drive) so that those who have never had their best features lasered into a hot cake before can experience this phenomenon.
The idea for a #pancakeselfie came from the Holiday Inn Express® brand’s Creative Director and Breakfast Excellence Honcho, actor/comedian Rob Riggle, according to the release, and clearly a very open minded marketing team.
“Everyone knows that breakfast is the most important and smartest meal of the day; everyone also knows that people love selfies,” said Jennifer Gribble, Vice President, Holiday Inn Express® Brand, Americas, IHG, in a statement.
Gribble said that using state-of-the-art technology combined with the desire to eat a filling first meal of the day is all a part of the company’s campaign to “Stay Smart,” as in, stay at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel, wherever you may be off to.
“We are excited to send the ‘Pancake Selfie Express’ out on the road, delivering freshly baked, high-tech pancakes and driving breakfast enthusiasm along the way,” she said.
The “Pancake Selfie Express” features five push-button pancake machines that each produce one pancake per minute, using lasers which can imprint selfies taken with a mobile phone camera directly onto each one. Fans have officially named this pancake machine, “The Stack Station.”
So far, the food truck has stopped in Dallas and Austin, TX, Phoenix, AZ, San Diego, CA and has recently alighted in Long Beach for Monday and Tuesday. It will continue to entice people to eat their face for breakfast in Los Angeles September 24 through 27, San Francisco, Oakland and lastly, Sacramento.
