Sad news in the coffeshop closure department. Our Best Coffeeshop in Long Beach winner, Aroma di Roma in Belmont Shore, was shuttered up last week. A sign on the gate assures customers that they will be reopening soon “in a new-and-improved Belmont Shore location” while apologizing for their “legal squabbles.”
The Belmont Shore Patch is reporting that the panini and gelato place’s lease was not renewed when it expired this year and according to local building owners, it seems to be a personal issue between Aroma di Roma operator Tim Terrell and a the building’s unnamed landlord, who may have wanted a different coffeeshop in its place.
