12:45pm | Actor Robert Wagner will serve as master of ceremonies at the Port of Long Beach’s 100th birthday party on June 25, according to a statement issued by the port.
Wagner is the voice in the port’s “Faces of the Port – Celebrating 100 Years.”
This event is free. Guests are invited to bring picnic baskets, lawn chairs and enjoy the day’s celebrations, including a performance by the Long Beach Municipal Band.
The event begins at 2:30 p.m. with a screening of “Faces of the Port – Celebrating 100 Years” following.
- At 3:30 p.m. is “Let’s Talk Centennial,” a history panel discussion moderated by maritime reporter George Cunningham.
- At 4:15 p.m. is a second screening of “Faces of the Port – Celebrating 100 Years.”
- At 5:15 p.m. are centennial presentations with Robert Wagner.
- At 5:45 p.m. are centennial cupcakes.
- At 6 p.m. is a performance by the Long Beach Municipal Band.
The event, which wraps up at 8 p.m., includes historical exhibits a photo exhibit, a Ferris wheel, carnival rides and games and free refreshments.
The event is on the docks of Pier E, south of the Gerald Desmond Bridge at Ocean Boulevard and Pico Avenue.
