This Saturday will welcome the first sidewalk sale hosted by a group of established and new East Village Arts District stores to celebrate the coming of summer.
“We feel that a fun day of great deals will attract the community of Long Beach to visit and rediscover the East Village Arts District,” said Patrick Santa Ana, owner of ELEV8.
The EVA has seen a crop of new boutiques flourish–ELEV8, 1897LB, MAKE Collectives, just to name a few–that not only helped the district score this year’s Best Shopping District amongst Post readers, but has drawn more attention to the area for its unique small business offerings.
Jose Cordon, co-owner of Long Beach-centric clothing store 1897LB, echoed this sentiment when he said, “I hope this event encourages the community to head downtown and enjoy the artistic vibe of the East Village. Hopefully this will inspire future shopping events and the participation of more East Village businesses.”
Boutiques involved in the sale will offer discounts ranging from 10% to 50% on items such as jewelry, clothing, and furniture. Participating outlets include 1897LB, Anneise, MAKE Collectives, ELEV8, Modern Emporium, Ay que Vintage, Native Sol, Village Treasures, La Femme Vintage, Eclectique, Vickies Flower Shop and Proverse Goods.
The sidewalk sale will take place this Saturday, May 18, from 10AM to 5PM along storefronts where 1st meets Linden.
