The former Ralphs property in Bixby Knolls is finally getting new tenants, as Orange County-based real estate asset management and development firm Red Mountain Retail Group has closed escrow on the property, announced Eighth District Councilmember Al Austin on Monday.

Among the new tenants that have signed leases to move to the site located at San Antonio Drive and Long Beach Boulevard later this year are Trader Joe’s, Crunch Fitness and Pet Food Express.

Trader Joe’s will be relocating from its current location at 4121 Atlantic Avenue.

“This is good news and great progress for the Bixby Knolls community. I look forward to the groundbreaking and ribbon cutting ceremonies to come,” Austin said in a statement.

The former Ralph’s location, which served the uptown neighborhoods for 12 years, has been vacant since June 2013.
