
The California Supreme Court today released a ruling that upholds Proposition 8, passed by voters in November to reinstitute a sentence in the State Constitution that was removed to allow same-sex couples to wed. Some 18,000 same-sex marriages will continue to be recognized, but no future same-sex marriages will be deemed Constitutional. The judges voted 6-1 to uphold the November vote.
Long Beach Equality has already announced a rally to be held at 7:00pm tonight, at the corner of Alamitos and Broadway. We’ll have more information soon as rallies will likely take place in Long Beach today.
