The California Lottery’s annual Report to the Public was released on Friday, touting extensive education funds to local schools and specialized institutions.  In the 2007-08 fiscal year, the Lottery gave more than $1 billion to California schools, and a nifty tool on their website shows that nearly $11.8 million was donated to the Long Beach Unified School District, while Long Beach City College received more than $3.3 million.

Select the “District” icon and type in “Long Beach” to see exact figures given to the LBUSD and LBCC.

The California Lottery is required to provide at least one-third of revenues to statewide education.
