If you see long lines of cars around the city tomorrow, it’s because Long Beach schools are celebrating high school seniors with drive-thru ceremonies at each high school Thursday morning.

As the COVID-19 pandemic shut down schools across the nation, seniors were left wondering how they would be able to safely celebrate their accomplishments. Birthday, graduation and appreciation parades have since been snaking their way through the streets throughout the city.

The ceremonies, organized by each school, will take place in the morning and early afternoon at each main school. Wilson High School’s ceremony will finish with a parade through Belmont Shore following the ceremony.

  • Poly: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Wilson 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Cabrillo 9 a.m. to 1:40 p.m.
  • Jordan 9 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
  • Millikan 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • McBride 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The district will then air a graduation video on YouTube at 8:20 p.m. Thursday.
