Choura Events has paired forces with the California Women’s Conference (CWC) to have an inaugural launch party to celebrate the conference that will be held Long Beach on September 23-24.
The party, to be held at Hotel Maya on August 2, will warmly welcome the conference’s organizers while hosting a group of celebrity guests in order to engage both locals and conference participants. The conference itself is already scheduled to bring an esteemed group of both male and female thinkers, business folk and innovators to Long Beach and will be focusing the women’s economy and the role women play in our financial and monetary sectors.
Along with this, the Long Beach Post will join the two organizations in helping the party not only launch the conference itself, but also the second of a series of recognition events that the Post and Choura Events launched earlier this year.
Coming right on the heels of the CWC the night before, we will announce those who will be recognized as 30 Women to Watch in Long Beach, bringing a local focus on the importance of the role of women in tandem with the broader, national outlook provided by the conference. This follows the first event held at The Grand earlier this April, 40 Under 40, in which 40 men and women under the age of 40 were recognized for their contributions to and for Long Beach.
In pairing with the CWC, all three parties hold a mutual agreement that the definition of womanhood is an ever-shifting one, no longer being relegated to the dichotomy that a woman should either be a fierce corporate executive or a complete housewife. We feel that myriad definitions with regards to femininity and womanhood, as well as the essential role females play in society, are often overlooked–and recognition, the fundamental part of our entire event series, is the key in creating dialogue about and helping bridge the gap that is gender inequality. And, of course, simultaneously recognizing incredible women who are shifting and shaping our city into a more radiant future.
The conference will be spread over two days, beginning on Sunday, September 23, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm as well as Monday, September 24, from 8:00am to 7:30pm at the Long Beach Convention Center. Admission for the event is $79 for Sunday and $199 for both days’ festivities. For more information, visit the California Women’s Conference website.
