A mobile home fire ignited by a Christmas tree Monday evening left a mobile home in North Long Beach uninhabitable, Long Beach Fire Department officials said.
The fire started around 8:20PM in the Villa Park Mobile Estates in the 6400 block of Atlantic Avenue, where arriving firefighters discovered heavy smoke and fire surrounding a home on all sides. Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze and kept the damage to the involved unit.
All four occupants of the home at the time of the fire escaped with their lives, though one adult male and female sustained mild to moderate burns and are listed as being in stable condition. Officials say the mobile home sustained heavy damage and was uninhabitable.
The family of five that lived in the home are currently being assisted by the Red Cross.
