1:08pm | Long Beach City Attorney Robert Shannon revealed several powerful endorsements today in his bid to win re-election in the citywide April 13 vote, announcing the support of Los Angeles City Attorney Carmen A. Trutanich, Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca and the Long Beach Police Officers Association.

Shannon faces opposition in the race for City Attorney by current City Prosecutor Tom Reeves.

“I am honored to have the support of prominent law enforcement officials,” Shannon said in a press release. “Protecting residents and keeping our neighborhoods safe is one of my top priorities as City Attorney. I am proud to earn the united endorsement of law enforcement officials, supporting my efforts to make Long Beach safe for all residents.”

Shannon is seeking his fourth term, having served as City Attorney for the past twelve years. His opponent, Reeves, has served as City Prosecutor for the same amount of time.
