Michael Killebrew, the City of Long Beach Director of Financial Management since May 2004, is resigning effective September 21 to become Director of Administrative Services for the City of Dana Point.

 

“Michael’s strong and steady financial hand provided invaluable expertise and professionalism as he helped guide the City of Long Beach through very difficult and complex financial matters,” City Manager Tony Batts said. “Michael has been one of our true ‘go to’ department heads on the management team and will be sorely missed. He has spent nearly 18 years serving the City of Long Beach and we wish him the best.”

 

The Director of Financial Management is responsible for the City’s Accounting, Budget, Treasury, Business Licensing, Purchasing, Billing, Collections and Utility Call Center.

 

Mr. Killebrew’s other positions during his career with the City of Long Beach include City Controller, Budget Manager, Acting Treasurer, Accounting Operations Officer, Financial Systems Manager, Water Department Controller, Staff/Senior Auditor and Audit Intern.
