With Thanksgiving right around the corner, city officials have reported the following changes in city services for the holiday:
Parking Meters
Meters will not be enforced on Thanksgiving, November 24, but will be the following day on Friday, November 25. The new smart parking meters display days and hours of operations, including holiday exemptions, if you’re ever unsure. Meters without holiday exemptions are still enforced. Red, white and blue curbs are enforced everyday while green and yellow curbs are not on holidays.
Make sure to read the display. For more parking information, click here.
Street Sweeping
Street sweeping violations will not occur on Thanksgiving, November 24, and the Friday after, November 25. It will remain regularly scheduled on all other days of the week.
Libraries
All public libraries will be closed on Thursday, November 24, Friday, November 25 and Monday, November 28. Libraries will re-open on Saturday, November 26, with the exception of Bay Shore, Burnett and Michelle Obama Neighborhood Libraries. The latter three will be open Sunday, November 27. All libraries that close on Monday will re-open Tuesday, November 28.
