Long Beach health officials reported 2 new deaths and 29 new cases linked to COVID-19 on Sunday as restrictions loosened during Memorial Day weekend.
Sunday’s figures bring the number of confirmed cases to 1,582 and a total of 73 deaths so far in Long Beach, according to the city’s database.
Officials said about 1,100 people have recovered from the coronavirus while a total of 67 people are currently hospitalized.
County officials reported 940 new cases of COVID-19 and 14 additional deaths, raising the county’s totals to 44,988 and 2,104 deaths.
