The city of Long Beach will partner with various grocery chains on Monday to help fill full-time and part-time positions for stores in the greater Long Beach area, officials announced Friday.

Residents are encouraged to come out to a job fair on Monday, August 3, from 8:00AM to 1:00PM at Vons Supermarket, 600 East Broadway, for job opportunities with Vons, Albertsons and Pavilions.

“The hiring event is part of the City’s commitment to help residents access quality employment, and support businesses by helping them connect to skilled workers,” a press release stated.

The city’s public workforce agency, Pacific Gateway, has partnered with managers from local Vons, Albertsons and Pavilions store to fill various positions in the Long Beach area.

The event is part of the supermarkets’ plans to hire 1,400 employees for Southern California stores over the next few several months, the release adds.

Eligible employees will receive benefits such as health care, paid vacation, and an employee discount.
