Four Long Beach Police Department employees and a local animal advocate are this year’s recepients of the City Prosecutor Office’s IMPACT Awards, an annual recognition bestowed upon individuals, groups and organizations who have worked with the office to make a positive impact on Long Beach.
The five recepients of this year’s IMPACT Award are:
- Detective Mark Steenhausen, LBPD, for his investigation and personal efforts on the “Baby Maggie” case.
- Judith Crumpton, local animal advocate and Long Beach Post “Pet Post” contributor, for her efforts to bring to fruition an annual conference on animal care and cruelty prevention.
- Patrol Officers Josh Brearley and Andrew Fox and the North Division Directed Enforcement Team (DET), LBPD, for their success in combating gang related crime.
- Criminalist Greg Gossage and Police Officer Tyrone Anderson, LBPD, for their technical expertise and hard work relating to DUI investigations.
- Detective David Strohman, Narcotics Division, LBPD, for leadership in the effort to reduce illegal drug activity in Long Beach.
Now in its second year, the IMPACT Awards are a way for the City Prosecutor to recognize those who made a significant impact on the city of Long Beach. Last year’s winners included police officers and a school counselor.
“These unsung heroes make a real difference in our City,” said City Prosecutor Doug Haubert. “There are many who deserve recognition, but these winners stand out for their hard work and dedication.”
Winners will be recognized at a private reception on Thursday, January 31.
