The City of Long Beach today unveils a brand new website with striking graphics and an interface that is much easier to navigate than the previous version.  Many of the tools available on the site remain the same as before, but are presented clearly, making city information much easier to find.

A statement on the website reads:

On Monday December 15, the City launched the NEW and improved City website.  The new website will be easier to use and have an updated look, with the goal to provide the public with complete, accurate, up-to-date information that is easily accessible.  Upgrades include the ability to view and sort city services, an improved employment site and enhanced search capabilities.   We invite you to explore the* NEW* www.longbeach.gov!

Beneath beautiful rotating images of coastal Long Beach, information is separated based on whether it appeals to residents, businesses or visitors.  Another striking graphic takes you to LBTV8, where you can find streaming City Council archives and other videos.

Also new to the site is the Upcoming Events category, a Featured News section providing developing information, and a Most Popular feature that ranks the pages being used the most.

There’s also a chance for readers to “Rate Our Site” on the homepage on a five-star scale… but that’s not as fun as having you tell us what you think.  How does it look?  Does it provide new information for you?  Are the new changes helpful?
