Arturo M. Sanchez, Interim Assistant City Administrator for the City of Oakland, has been named as Deputy City Manager of Long Beach, announced City Manager Pat West.

DeputyCityMan“Arturo has a proven history of providing exemplary leadership in a municipal setting,” West said in a statement. “His strong analytical, strategic and community engagement skills will be a great addition to our Senior Management Team and help us make Long Beach an even better city.”

Sanchez, whose appointment to Deputy City Manager will be effective in mid-February, is currently responsible for overseeing Oakland’s external service delivery departments, and previously worked as Deputy City Administrator, Assistant to the City Administrator, Policy Analyst and attorney in the Oakland’s Neighborhood Law Corps.

“I am grateful to be appointed Deputy City Manager for the City of Long Beach,” Sanchez said in a statement. “I am dedicated to providing the best public service possible, and to working closely with residents, businesses and all our civic partners for the betterment of the entire community.”
